My Stamp Drive in Tamluk Division — Office-Wise Targets Fixed, Report Due 1 September 2026

Published: 25 August 2026 | Category: India Post Circulars & Operational Updates | Circle: West Bengal | Division: Tamluk

The Office of the Superintendent of Post Offices, Tamluk Division has issued instructions to all Sub-Divisional Heads regarding the My Stamp Drive currently running in West Bengal Circle.

The drive started on 15 August 2026 and runs until 31 August 2026. Each post office in the division has been given a sales target, and the reporting deadline is 1 September 2026.

If you are working in a BO, SO or HO in Tamluk Division, this affects you directly and the window is now down to about a week.

Office-Wise Targets

The Competent Authority has assigned the following targets to each post office in the division for the drive period:

Status of OfficeTarget of My Stamp During the Drive
Branch Office03 sheets
Sub Post Office05 sheets
Head Post Office10 sheets

The circular directs Sub-Divisional Heads to take necessary steps to achieve the assigned target without fail.

What Exactly Is Being Asked

Reading the circular in plain language, three things are being asked of the field:

1. Sell My Stamp sheets during 15–31 August 2026. Each office has a number to hit — 3 for a BO, 5 for an SO, 10 for an HO.

2. Record the number of sheets sold, office by office. Not a division total. The report has to show each office separately.

3. Send that figure up by 1 September 2026. Sub-Divisional Heads furnish office-wise numbers to the Divisional Office, which then consolidates the whole division and sends it to the Circle Office.

That is the entire chain. Circle Office → Division → Sub-Division → individual PO, and the numbers travel back up the same path.

A Note on the Timeline

This is worth pointing out for anyone in the field:

  • The Circle letter is dated 13 August 2026.
  • The drive began 15 August 2026.
  • The Divisional letter reached Sub-Divisional Heads on 21 August 2026.
  • The drive closes 31 August 2026.

By the time the divisional instruction went out, the drive was already six days old. If the letter took a few more days to reach individual offices, some BPMs and SPMs may effectively have a very short working window to hit their number.

If you are only seeing this now, the practical advice is simple: start today, and do not wait until 30 August to think about it.

For BPMs, SPMs and Counter Staff — Practical Points

Know your own target. It depends on your office status, not on your staff strength or your normal business volume. A BO needs 3 sheets. An SO needs 5. An HO needs 10.

Keep a written count from day one. The report is office-wise, so somebody will ask you for your specific number. Maintaining a small running tally in a register is much easier than reconstructing it on 31 August.

Know your local philately point. My Stamp is a philatelic product, and not every office holds stock or has the setup to process it. If your office cannot handle it directly, find out immediately where the nearest Philately Bureau or designated counter is, so you can guide customers instead of turning them away.

Ask your Sub-Divisional Head about the exact reporting format. The circular says “office-wise number of My Stamp sheets sold” but does not prescribe a proforma. Divisions often circulate their own format. Ask before 31 August rather than after.

Do not report an estimate. The number you send goes into a consolidated Division-wise report to the Circle Office. Send what you actually sold.

What Is My Stamp?

For staff who do not handle philately regularly, and for customers asking at the counter:

My Stamp is India Post’s personalised postage stamp service. A customer can have a photograph or an image of their choice printed alongside a stamp design, and the resulting sheet contains valid postage stamps that can actually be used to send mail.

It is commonly bought for:

  • Weddings and engagement functions
  • Birthdays, especially milestone ones
  • School and college functions, farewells and reunions
  • Corporate branding, logos and anniversaries
  • Institutional events and inaugurations
  • Personal gifts and keepsakes

The appeal is straightforward — it is an official Government of India postage stamp with your own photograph on it. For events, it works as a memento that is genuinely one of a kind.

Please note: The circular does not specify the price, image requirements, processing time or the procedure for taking orders. For current rates, permitted image types and turnaround, check with your Divisional Office or your nearest Philately Bureau. Do not quote figures to customers from memory or from older instructions — confirm locally first.

Simple Ways to Reach Your Target

The targets are modest — 3, 5 or 10 sheets. Some approaches that generally work in rural and semi-urban offices:

Talk to customers who are already at your counter. Someone paying an RD instalment or collecting a parcel is a person you already have a conversation with. It costs nothing to mention it.

Look at what is happening locally this month. Weddings, school functions, local club anniversaries, retirement functions — anywhere a group is gathering to mark something, My Stamp has an obvious use.

Speak to schools and colleges in your beat. Farewell functions and annual days are recurring, predictable opportunities.

Show, don’t describe. A sample sheet on the counter explains the product in two seconds. A verbal explanation takes two minutes and usually loses the customer halfway.

Use your existing account holders. In most rural offices, the postmaster knows a good number of local families personally. That relationship is the single biggest advantage a post office has over any private seller.

Postmen and GDS staff are your field network. They visit households daily and often know about upcoming functions in the village well before anyone else does.
