Important rule: Final merit is made only from Paper-I + Paper-II combined marks. Paper-III and Paper-IV are only qualifying in nature. So the real fight is in Paper-I and Paper-II.

Big learning: almost every selected candidate scored 90+ in Paper-I and 44 to 50 in Paper-II. Paper-II is small (50 marks) but it decides your rank. Do not take it lightly.
Another key point — most toppers scored 24 to 25 out of 25 in DEST (95% to 100%). So typing speed and accuracy practice is not optional.

Important Instructions for Selected Candidates
Read these carefully — many people lose their promotion because of these rules.
- Joining within 7 days — If the official does not join the promotional post within seven (07) days, it will be deemed refused.
- Officials on leave may join later, but they must communicate their acceptance in writing.
- Not willing to join? Then also communicate it in writing.
- SC / ST / PH candidates — promotion is provisional, subject to caste/PH status verification within one month. An undertaking will be taken at the time of relieving.
- Disciplinary or vigilance case pending? Divisional Heads must confirm no punishment or pending case before effecting promotion.
- Provisional candidates — candidature must be finalised first. No promotion without finalisation.
- Wrong name, roll no. or community? Report the correction to Circle Office, Patna immediately.
- Any discrepancy or omission in name, roll no., marks, community or sub-category at any stage will lead to cancellation of result.
- Divisional/Unit Heads must complete the appointment process within one week.
