If you appeared in this exam, here’s everything you need to know in simple words.

Quick Overview

  • Exam: LDCE for promotion to Inspector Posts (IP) 2026
  • Exam Dates: The exam was held on 26th and 27th September 2026
  • Answer Key Released On: 29-09-2026
  • Signed by: Krishna Kumar Gupta, Assistant Director General (DE), Department of Posts, New Delhi
  • Papers Covered: Paper-I (125 questions) and Paper-III (150 questions)
  • Question Booklet Series: A, B, C and D

How to Use the Answer Key

The official key gives the question number for all four series (A, B, C and D) in one row, with the correct answer at the end. The same question appears at a different number in each series.

So follow these simple steps:

  1. Check your booklet series (A, B, C or D) first.
  2. Find your question number in your series column in the official PDF.
  3. Look at the answer in that same row.
  4. Count your correct answers to estimate your score.

The keys below are given in Series A order. If your booklet is Series B, C or D, please use the series-mapping columns in the official PDF to match your question numbers.

Note: These are provisional keys. Some answers may change in the final key after objections are reviewed.

How to Raise an Objection

If you think any answer is wrong, you can send your feedback before the deadline.

  • Deadline: Objections must be submitted by 5:30 PM on 6 October 2026.
  • What to include: The prescribed format asks for the Paper Number, Question Booklet Series, Question Number, all four options, and the reason why you think the provisional answer is wrong.
  • How to send: In past IP exams, candidates sent feedback in the prescribed format through the email of their respective Postal Circles. Check the official notice for this year’s exact process.

Tips for a strong objection:

  • Double-check your booklet series before quoting any question number.
  • Give a clear reason with a reference, such as the rule number, volume, or circular.
  • Keep it short and to the point.
  • Don’t miss the deadline, as late objections are usually not accepted.

What Happens After This?

Based on last year’s process, here’s what you can expect:

  • For LDCE IP 2025, the final answer keys went through a three-stage review, with Moderation Committees checking candidate objections.
  • Where answers were changed, marks were recalculated on a pro-rata basis.
  • Candidates with pending vigilance or disciplinary cases were kept under sealed cover.

For reference, last year’s exam was held on 29th and 30th November 2025, and results came out on 23 March 2026.

Final Words

The provisional key is a great chance to check your performance and spot any errors. Match your answers carefully with your booklet series, and if you find a genuine mistake, send your objection with proper reasons before 6 October 2026, 5:30 PM.

And if you are planning to appear in the next IP exam, start early. Solve India Post previous year question papers, take regular India Post mock tests, and build strong notes from India Post study material on rules, volumes and circulars.
