Accept or Decline – Read This Carefully
Every promoted official must accept or decline the promotion in writing, unconditionally, within one month from the date of the order.

- You will not be eligible for HSG-II (Postal) promotion for 1 full year from the date of declination. This applies to both regular and ad-hoc promotion.
- You will not be considered for financial upgradation under the MACP Scheme, if any is due, until you accept a promotion.
So think twice before declining. A one-line letter today can block your growth for a full year.
Vigilance and Disciplinary Cases

- If any vigilance or disciplinary case is pending, the official should not be relieved without specific orders from the Circle Office.
- Promotion should not be withheld only because disciplinary action is being thought of.

- An official under any current punishment (except censure and recovery of loss amount) should not be promoted until that punishment period ends.

- If you are not yet in Level-6, you can choose your date of pay fixation under FR-22(I)(a)(1) within one month from the date of taking charge on promotion.

As per Recruitment Rules 2014 for HSG-II in Post Offices:
- Regions must confirm whether the promoted officials have completed the two weeks Departmental Training for the higher post.
