  • Set B – Question 31
  • Set C – Question 34

How to Calculate Your Expected Marks

  • First check your question paper Set (A, B, C or D) printed on your OMR sheet or question booklet.
  • Match your answers only with your own set column — the answers are shuffled in each set.
  • Count the total correct answers in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III separately.
  • Do not count deleted questions as wrong.
  • Compare your score with the previous year cut-off of your circle to get an idea of your chances.

Difference Between Provisional and Final Answer Key

  • The provisional answer key is released first, and candidates are given a window to raise objections.
  • The department examines all objections with expert help.
  • Wrong or doubtful questions are then deleted or corrected.
  • The final answer key is what is actually used to prepare the result — no further objections are accepted after it.

What Happens After the Final Answer Key

  • The circle prepares the merit list on the basis of the final answer key.
  • DEST / typing skill test results are also considered for the Postman / Mail Guard cadre where applicable.
  • The result of provisionally recommended candidates is declared next, along with division allotment.
  • If vacancies remain unfilled, the circle issues supplementary lists later.

Preparation Tips for the Next Attempt

  • Study the official syllabus and exam pattern for Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III.
  • Solve previous year question papers of your own circle and other circles.
  • Attempt a mock test daily and revise the wrong answers the same day.
  • Focus on Postal Manuals, Post Office Guide Part-I, FHB, Constitution of India, General Knowledge, Reasoning, Maths and Current Affairs.
  • Practise typing every day for DEST — many candidates clear the written papers but lose selection in the skill test.
  • Always keep a copy of the official answer key PDF for your record.
