The Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Telangana Circle, Hyderabad has declared the 5th supplementary result of the LDCE for promotion to Postman and Mail Guard (PM/MG) from eligible MTS officials.
This result is for the vacancy year 2025. One seat became free after a selected candidate declined the promotion, and it has now gone to the next candidate in the merit list. But the most interesting part of this result is why some higher scorers did not get this seat. Let’s go through it step by step.

Why Was This Supplementary Result Released?

Candidates in Merit Who Were Not Allotted This Seat
The letter also names 7 MTS candidates who were in the merit list but could not be given a division. The reason is simple: they gave limited division preferences, and there was no vacancy in their chosen divisions when their turn came.

The Biggest Lesson From This Result: Fill Your Preferences Wisely
Look at the two tables side by side. The selected candidate scored 90 marks. But Regalla Nagamani scored 96 and Yellanki Kishore scored 94, and they still did not get this Secunderabad seat.
Why? Because they did not choose Secunderabad (or it was lower in their list) when they filled their division preferences. Marks alone do not decide your posting. Your preference list plays a big role too.
Here’s what every aspirant should keep in mind:
- Give as many preferences as you are willing to accept. A short list can cost you a promotion even with high marks.
- Think before you choose. Only list divisions where you are truly ready to go. Declining later, like in this case, starts a long chain of supplementary results.
- Supplementary results do happen. This is already the 5th supplementary result for the same exam. If you are just below the cut-off, stay alert, as your turn may come.
- Every mark counts. Many candidates are tied at 90 and 88. A few extra marks in Paper-I or Paper-II can change everything.
The same Postman and Mail Guard exam is also open to GDS employees through the GDS to Postman and GDS to Mail Guard route. If you are preparing for the next GDS to Postman Departmental Exam or MTS to Postman LDCE, follow the GDS to Postman Syllabus closely, solve previous year question papers, and take regular mock tests. Good GDS to Postman Online Classes can help you score those extra marks that make the difference.
Final Words
This 5th supplementary result is a small update, but it carries a big message. High marks get you into the merit list, and smart preferences get you the posting. If you are appearing in the next exam, plan both carefully.
