If you are a GDS or MTS in Karnataka Circle, especially in Raichur Division, here’s an update worth reading.
The Superintendent of Post Offices, Raichur Division has released the reservation rosters for MTS and Postman cadres as on 31 December 2025. These rosters show how posts are shared between GDS and MTS, how many are filled, and which categories are short.
Let’s break it down in simple words.
Reservation Percentages Used
Raichur Division follows these percentages for most rosters:
- SC: 16%
- ST: 7%
- OBC: 27%
- EWS: 10%
For the MTS to Postman (LDCE) quota, only SC (15%) and ST (7.5%) reservation applies.
Part 1: MTS Cadre
Total sanctioned MTS posts: 19 (17 + 2 skeleton)
The posts are filled from GDS in two ways:
- 50% (10 posts) through Seniority-cum-Fitness among GDS
- 50% (9 posts) through Competitive Examination among GDS
Seniority-cum-Fitness Quota (10 Posts)
| Category | Earmarked | Filled | Excess/Short |
|---|---|---|---|
| SC | 1 | 1 | 0 |
| ST | 0 | 2 | +2 |
| OBC | 2 | 2 | 0 |
| EWS | 1 | 0 | -1 |
- 8 posts filled, 2 points still open (one UR and one EWS).
- Several posts were filled through GDS Seniority-cum-Fitness in 2024 and 2025, showing this route is active.
Competitive Examination Quota (9 Posts)
| Category | Earmarked | Filled | Excess/Short |
|---|---|---|---|
| SC | 1 | 2 | +1 |
| ST | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| OBC | 2 | 1 | -1 |
| EWS | 0 | 0 | 0 |
- All 9 roster points are filled in this quota.
Overall MTS Position
| Total | SC | ST | OBC | EWS | UR | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sanctioned | 19 | 2 | 0 | 4 | 1 | 12 |
| In Position | 17 | 3 | 2 | 3 | 0 | 9 |
| Shortage/Excess | -2 | +1 | +2 | -1 | -1 | -3 |
In short: 2 MTS posts are vacant, and the gaps are in UR, OBC and EWS.
The file also includes a Casual Labour (SCF) roster for MTS, but it shows no appointments against any reserved point.
Part 2: Postman Cadre
Total sanctioned Postman posts: 58
They are shared equally:
- 50% (29 posts) for GDS through Competitive Examination
- 50% (29 posts) for MTS through LDCE (promotion)
GDS Quota (29 Posts)
| Category | Earmarked | Filled | Excess/Short |
|---|---|---|---|
| SC | 4 | 8 | +4 |
| ST | 2 | 7 | +5 |
| OBC | 8 | 7 | -1 |
| EWS | 3 | 4 | +1 |
- A large number of GDS were appointed as Postman, especially in December 2022, when many joined in a single round.
- The GDS list shows more appointments than its 29-post share, which usually happens when vacancies from the MTS quota are not filled and are passed on to GDS.
MTS Quota Through LDCE (29 Posts)
This is the eye-opener.
- Out of 29 posts, only 3 are filled (promotions in November 2024 and December 2025).
- 26 roster points are still empty.
- SC (4) and ST (2) reserved points are fully unfilled.
Overall Postman Position
| Total | SC | ST | OBC | EWS | UR | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sanctioned | 58 | 8 | 4 | 8 | 3 | 35 |
| In Position | 54 | 8 | 7 | 7 | 4 | 28 |
| Shortage/Excess | -4 | 0 | +3 | -1 | +1 | -7 |
In short: 4 Postman posts are vacant overall, with the biggest gap in UR (7).
PwBD (Divyang) Rosters
Separate rosters for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are also shared.
MTS: 19 vacancies notified from 2017 to 2025. The next reserved point (point 26) is earmarked for locomotor disability (OH).
Postman: 44 vacancies notified from 2016-17 to 2025, with the highest in 2022 (21 vacancies). The next reserved point (point 51) is earmarked for visual impairment (VH).
No shortfall is currently shown in either PwBD roster.
