Key Observations
- High marks did not always mean DEST. In Category B, the top scorer (90 marks) and several others in the 80s were not shortlisted for DEST. In GDS, only 1 out of 167 candidates was shortlisted. The list does not explain why, so shortlisting seems to depend on things like vacancies, category and eligibility, not marks alone. Candidates should check with their division.
- 17 OMR sheets were not evaluated because of mistakes like a wrong roll number or a question booklet error. All that hard work was lost because of a small filling mistake.
- DEST scores were mostly high. 114 of the 149 Category A candidates scored above 20 out of 25, and 24 candidates across A and B got the full 25.
- Two candidates with disability (PH-OH and PH-VH) were exempted from DEST, as per rules.
Lessons for Every PA/SA Aspirant
- Score high in Paper-I. The top marks this year were 90 (Category B) and 83 (Category A). Every extra mark moves you up the merit list.
- Fill your OMR carefully. 17 candidates lost their result because of a wrong roll number or question booklet entry. Check twice before you submit.
- Do not ignore DEST. It is the final step. Many candidates scored a perfect 25 – regular typing practice makes this easy.
- Know the rules for your category. Eligibility, vacancies and category decide who goes to DEST, not just marks.
