General Conditions of Promotion
- The promotion will start from the date of taking charge of the PS Group ‘B’ post on a regular basis.
- Request for change of Region will be considered only after joining the promotional post.
- All terms of the Directorate Order dated 10.09.2026 remain the same.
- Officers must send a copy of their charge report through the Head of Circle or Director, PTC to the Assistant Director (SPG-II), Postal Directorate, New Delhi.
- Regions and Units have been asked to relieve the officers immediately so they can join.
- If an officer does not want the promotion, a written declination letter must reach the Circle Office through the Regional Office within 30 days.
- Not taking charge within 30 days without a valid reason will be treated as deemed declination of promotion.

- If any vigilance or disciplinary case is pending, the officer should not be relieved without specific orders from the Directorate.
- Promotion will not be held back just because disciplinary action is being planned.
- But promotion can be held back if the officer is:
