Good news for Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) in Delhi. The Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Delhi Circle, has declared the final result of the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) for promotion to Postman and Mail Guard for the vacancy year 2026.

Important: No Mail Guard Vacancy This Year
There was no vacancy in the Mail Guard cadre for 2026, so no one was selected for Mail Guard.
Candidates who chose only Mail Guard as their preference were not considered for Postman posts. This follows Directorate letter no. 17-08/2018-SPN-I dated 18.10.2023.
Lesson for future aspirants: When you fill the GDS to Postman Form or the MTS to Postman form, choose both Postman and Mail Guard if you are open to either. Choosing only one can cost you a selection.
How the Merit List Was Prepared
The final selection is based on these rules:
- Merit is decided by Paper-I + Paper-II combined marks.
- Paper-III and DEST (typing test) must be passed separately. They are qualifying only.
- When two candidates have equal marks, rank is decided as per Directorate letter no. 04-08/2019-SPN-I dated 11.12.2020.

Divisions were allotted based on merit and the preference given by each candidate, subject to vacancy availability.
Important Dates for Selected Candidates
- By 23 September 2026: Heads of Divisions will issue the training-cum-posting order.
- On or before 30 September 2026: Selected candidates must join as per the posting order.
- By 1 October 2026: Any refusal must be sent to the Circle Office by email.
Key Rules You Should Know
- Service details will be re-checked. Divisions will verify name, roll number, community, date of birth, date of appointment and vigilance status before issuing orders.
- Candidature can be cancelled. If a candidate is later found ineligible, or an error is found in the merit list, the selection will be cancelled.
- Punishment period matters. No candidate with an ongoing punishment period will be appointed until it ends.
- SC/ST/PwBD promotions are provisional. They depend on certificate verification, which must be completed within one month of joining.
- No revaluation. Requests for revaluation will not be accepted.
- Merit list may change. The Competent Authority can make changes as per the rules.
- Detailed marks coming soon. Marks of all candidates and details of filled/unfilled vacancies will be released shortly.
How to Get a Copy of Your Answer Sheet (RTI)
If you want to check your answer sheet, you can apply under the RTI Act:
- Fee: ₹25 per paper (with answer key) + ₹10 RTI application fee
- Payment: Deposit in post office accounts
- Submission: Send your application through your own Division/Unit with the original fee receipt
