UPSSSC PET 2026 Exam Date Changed: Check the New Schedule Here

If you are preparing for UPSSSC PET 2026, there’s an important update. The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has changed the exam dates for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Quick Details

  • Exam: Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026
  • Advertisement No.: 16-Exam/2026
  • Notice No.: 1423/36/Teen(Pari-1)/2026/Khand-2
  • Notice Date: 25 September 2026
  • Issued by: Exam Controller, UPSSSC, Lucknow

Old Dates vs New Dates

Earlier, through its notice dated 9 September 2026, the Commission had fixed the exam for 23, 24 and 25 October 2026.

Now, due to unavoidable reasons, the schedule has been revised:

Old ScheduleNew Schedule
23 October 202625 October 2026 (Sunday)
24 October 202630 October 2026 (Friday)
25 October 20261 November 2026 (Sunday)

Exam Timings (No Change)

The exam will still be held in two shifts every day:

  • First Shift: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Second Shift: 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Admit Card Update

The Commission has said that information about the PET 2026 admit card will be shared separately on its official website in due time. Keep checking the UPSSSC website regularly.

Tip: Your exact exam date and shift will be printed on your admit card, so don’t plan travel until you download it.

What Should Candidates Do Now?

  • Don’t panic. You now have a few extra days to prepare.
  • Revise smartly. Focus on weak areas like reasoning, maths and general awareness.
  • Take mock tests. Practise in the same 2-hour format to build speed.
  • Plan your travel. 25 October and 1 November are Sundays, and 30 October is a Friday, just before the festive season. Book early once your admit card is out.
  • Watch for fake news. Trust only the official UPSSSC website for updates.

Why PET Matters

UPSSSC PET is the first step for most Group C jobs in Uttar Pradesh. Your PET score decides whether you can apply for the main recruitment exams that follow. A good score opens many doors, so give it your best.
