In Merit But Not Allotted: Limited Preferences
| Name | Hall Permit No. | Category | Paper-I | DEST | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| V. Mahesh | 1162010002 | SC | 69 | 24.78 | Limited preferences opted for Divisions/Units |
V. Mahesh scored 69, which is more than the selected SC candidate who scored 68. But he chose only a few divisions, and no vacancy was left in those divisions when his turn came.
Tied at Same Marks But Not Selected
These candidates scored the same marks as selected candidates. The tie was broken as per Directorate letter No. 04-08/2019-SPN-I dated 11.12.2020, and only the top-ranked candidates in the tie got the seats. The following candidates missed out because no more vacancies were left:
| S.No | Name | Hall Permit No. | Category | Paper-I | DEST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Posa Ramesh | 1391010034 | UR | 74 | 24.80 |
| 2 | Gajula Sravani | 1161010018 | UR | 74 | 25 |
| 3 | Kunchala Kasi Rao | 2541010009 | UR | 74 | 24.57 |
| 4 | K. Nagaraju | 2511010015 | UR | 74 | 25 |
| 5 | N. Narmada | 2121010035 | UR | 74 | 25 |
| 6 | Polagani Naga Raju | 2531010016 | UR | 74 | 24.59 |
| 7 | Dasari Brahma Teja | 1402010024 | SC | 68 | 25 |
Notice that eight UR candidates scored exactly 74 marks, but only two of them got selected in this round.
Important Joining Rules
- Selected candidates must accept and join, or decline, within 7 days, that is, by 06.10.2026, using the format attached with the letter.
- Divisions must send compliance to the Circle Office by 07.10.2026.
- Divisional Heads should issue offer letters on time so candidates can join quickly.
- A candidate who declines will have no further claim on this exam result. Their future promotion, if they pass a later exam, will count only after their embargo period ends.
Conditions Before Appointment
- The selection is provisional and subject to the PA/SA Recruitment Rules.
- Divisional Heads must recheck eligibility before issuing the offer.
- There should be no pending disciplinary or vigilance case against the candidate.
- Provisionally permitted candidates cannot be appointed until their candidature is regularised.
- Any false declaration will lead to cancellation without notice.
- Any mistakes in names, roll numbers or categories must be reported to the Circle Office.
What About Remaining Vacancies?
The Circle has confirmed that no LGO vacancy remains unfilled for 2026 that could be offered to Part-B/Category-B officials or GDS. The only exception is one PwBD (4 & 5) vacancy, which has been carried forward to the vacancy year 2027.
Key Lessons for PA/SA Aspirants
- One extra mark can change everything. Eight people scored 74, and most of them missed out. Just one more mark would have put any of them clearly ahead.
- Fill enough preferences. V. Mahesh scored higher than a selected candidate but lost the seat due to a short preference list. Always list every division you are truly willing to join.
- Think before you decline. Declining means losing your claim and waiting out an embargo period. Only apply for divisions you are ready to accept.
- DEST is qualifying, not ranking. Marks in Paper-I decide your rank. DEST just needs to be cleared.
If you are preparing for the next MTS to PA Departmental Exam or Postman to PA Departmental Exam, focus on scoring those extra few marks in Paper-I. Solve Postal Assistant previous year question papers, take regular MTS to PA mock tests, and follow the Postal Assistant syllabus closely.
