Odisha Circle releases 4th supplementary result

Odisha Circle has declared the 4th Supplementary Result of the MTS to Postman / Mail Guard LDCE for vacancy year 2026. The written exam was held on 12 July 2026 and the DEST on 30 August 2026.

A supplementary result comes out when a selected candidate refuses the promotion. The empty seat then goes to the next candidate in the merit list.

This time, one seat in Dhenkanal Division was filled. Here is everything you need to know, in simple words.

Why the seat opened and who got it

The refusal

In the 3rd supplementary result (07.10.2026), Shri Ajay Martha of RMS ‘K’ Division (Roll No. 252901, UR) was allotted Dhenkanal. He declined the promotion. This left 1 UR Postman seat empty in Dhenkanal.

The 4th supplementary list (Annexure-I)

The Circle Office checked the next candidates in merit order, along with the divisions they had chosen:

CandidateDivisionRoll No.CategoryResult
Sonali RoutRMS BG253027URNot selected – no vacancy in divisions opted
Prachi Priyadarshini TripathyRMS K252918URNot selected – no vacancy in divisions opted
Raj Kumar DeyDhenkanal252006URSelected – allotted Dhenkanal (UR)

Raj Kumar Dey scored 112 in Paper I and II, 40 in Paper III and 24.37 in DEST.

Lesson for aspirants: your choice of divisions matters. The first two candidates had higher marks but did not opt for Dhenkanal, so the seat went to the next eligible candidate.

Important rules every selected candidate must know

Join within 7 days

  • If you do not join the Postman post within 7 days of the order, it will be treated as a refusal.
  • If you are on leave, give your consent in writing. You can then join after your leave ends.
  • Your controlling officer must relieve you quickly so you can join.

Refusing promotion has a cost

  • If you refuse a promotion, you cannot get a new promotion offer for one year from the date of refusal.
  • Divisions will check this before issuing any promotion order.

Selection is provisional

  • Your eligibility, category (SC/ST/PwBD) and documents will be checked by your division.
  • If any disciplinary or vigilance case is pending, the matter goes to the Circle Office first.
  • Provisional candidates will not be promoted until their candidature is regularised.
  • If any mistake or ineligibility is found later, the name will be removed from the list.

Other points

  • No request to change the allotted division or cadre will be accepted.
  • If two candidates have equal marks, rank is decided as per Directorate rules.

Key dates

  • Promotion orders to be issued by divisions: 13.10.2026
  • Refusals (if any) to be sent to Circle Office: 21.10.2026

Why this matters for you

This is already the 4th supplementary list for the same exam. It shows that seats keep opening when people refuse promotion. So if you are on the merit list but not selected yet, keep checking Odisha Circle notices.

It also shows two simple truths:

  • Good marks alone are not enough. Choose your preferred divisions wisely.
  • Think before you refuse. A refusal blocks your next promotion offer for one year.
