Important Joining Rules

  • Selected candidates must join as Postman within 7 days, as per Postal Directorate letter No. 17-08/2018-SPN-I dated 15.06.2022.
  • Candidates on leave must send their acceptance letter within 7 days, even while on leave.
  • If a candidate does not join or reply in 7 days, it will be treated as refusal of promotion or appointment.
  • All Divisional Heads must send the joining status by 09.10.2026.

Conditions Before Appointment

  • Document verification of date of birth, educational qualification, category certificate and PwD certificate (if any) will be done by the Appointing Authority.
  • Any false declaration about education, category, service length or disability will lead to cancellation without notice.
  • If the permission to appear in the exam is later found invalid, the name will be removed at any stage.
  • There should be no pending disciplinary or vigilance case against the candidate.

Key Lessons for GDS to Postman Aspirants

  • Top scores are high. The topper in the GDS list scored 142, and the first 11 GDS candidates all scored 128 or more. Competition for UR seats is tough.
  • Merit beats category. Many ST and OBC candidates got UR seats because they scored well. UR seats are open to everyone.
  • One mark matters. Several candidates are tied at 132, 128 and 124. Small differences in marks decide who gets which division.
  • Don’t ignore DEST. It is only qualifying, but you must clear it. Most selected candidates scored 100% in DEST, so regular typing practice pays off.

If you are planning to appear in the next GDS to Postman Departmental Exam or MTS to Postman exam, start early. Solve GDS to Postman Previous Year Question Papers, take regular GDS to Postman Mock Tests, and follow the GDS to Postman Syllabus closely. Structured GDS to Postman Online Classes can help you cover Paper-I and Paper-II properly and push your score higher.
