Good news for everyone who sat the Inspector of Posts exam this year. The Department of Posts has released the provisional answer keys for Paper-I and Paper-III of the LDCE IP 2026. The exam was held on 26 and 27 September 2026.

The keys were uploaded on the departmental website on 29 September 2026. If you think any answer in the key is wrong, you can send your feedback, but only until 5:30 PM on 6 October 2026.

This blog explains, step by step, how to match your booklet with the key, how to fill the feedback format, and where to send it in your Circle.

Notice details: Letter No. A-34013/02/2026-DE dated 29.09.2026, issued by the DE Section, Department of Posts, Dak Bhawan, New Delhi. Signed by Krishna Kumar Gupta, Assistant Director General (DE).

How to Check the Answer Key

The question booklets came in four series: A, B, C and D. The same question has a different number in each series, so the key lists all four numbers side by side with one answer.

PaperTotal questionsExample row from the key
Paper-I125Q1 in Series A = Q5 in B = Q8 in C = Q12 in D, answer A
Paper-III150Q1 in Series A = Q5 in B = Q8 in C = Q12 in D, answer B

Simple steps to check your answers:

  1. Download the provisional answer key PDF from the departmental website.
  2. Note your booklet series (A, B, C or D) from your question paper.
  3. Find your question number in your series column.
  4. Read the answer in the last column of that same row.
  5. Compare it with what you marked and count your expected score.

Keep a note of any question where you strongly feel the key is wrong. You will need its paper number, series and question number for the feedback form.

How to Send Your Feedback

Feedback must be sent in the prescribed format called Annexure-I, by email to your own Postal Circle. Use a separate form for Paper-I and Paper-III.

Details to fill in Annexure-I:

  • Your name and official address
  • Name of your Circle
  • Your Roll Number
  • Serial number of the objection
  • Paper number (I or III), booklet series (A/B/C/D) and question number
  • The full question with all four answer options
  • Your comment on why the provisional answer is wrong
  • Your signature, mobile number, place and date

Very important: You must cite the Rule number or Instruction and its official source. Scan a copy of that rule or instruction and attach it with your feedback. An objection without proof may not be considered.

What happens next: Circles will compile all feedback in Annexure-III, separately for each paper, and send it to the DE Section, DoP by 8 October 2026. The final answer key will be decided after this review.

Circle-wise Email IDs for Feedback (Annexure-II)

Send your feedback only to the email ID of your own Circle.

Tips for a Strong Objection

  • Be specific. Write the exact paper, series and question number. One wrong digit can make your objection useless.
  • Quote the rule. Mention the exact Rule number, volume or circular, such as a Postal Manual rule or a DoP order.
  • Attach proof. Scan the page of the rule book or circular and attach it to the same email.
  • One form per paper. Do not mix Paper-I and Paper-III questions in one form.
  • Send early. Do not wait for the last evening of 6 October. Email servers and scanners can fail at the worst time.
  • Keep a copy. Save the sent email and attachments for your record.
