The M.P. Circle has confirmed it. The Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) for the LGO PA/SA Examination 2026 will be held on 16.08.2026.
If your name is in the qualified list, you have roughly one week left. That is enough time — but only if you use it properly.

Who Is Sitting for This Skill Test?
This single exam covered three separate promotion routes inside India Post:
- MTS to PA/SA — Multi Tasking Staff moving up to Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant
- Postman to PA/SA and Mail Guard to PA/SA — the PM/MG route
- GDS to PA/SA — Gramin Dak Sevaks moving into a regular Postal Assistant post
All of them appear in the same qualified list. The designations printed against the names include Postman, MTS, Mail Overseer (MO), Mail Guard (MG) and PM — which shows how mixed the shortlist is.
One Week Preparation Plan for DEST
Do not spend this week revising theory. The written paper is over. Only typing matters now.
Day 1 to Day 2 — Fix your basics
- Type on a full-size physical keyboard, not a laptop chiclet keyboard or a phone
- Correct your finger placement now — bad habits get worse under exam pressure
- Type without looking at the keys, even if it feels slow at first
Day 3 to Day 4 — Build accuracy
- Target 95% accuracy before you chase speed
- Type one full English passage daily and count your mistakes
- Note which letters you keep hitting wrong and drill only those
Day 5 to Day 6 — Simulate the exam
- Sit for a full-length timed test every day at the same hour
- No pausing, no backspacing habit, no water breaks mid-test
- Practise with unfamiliar passages, not the same one repeatedly
Day 7 — Rest and logistics
- Light practice only, 15 minutes maximum
- Keep your documents ready and sleep on time
- Confirm your travel route to LNCT Bhopal
Mistakes That Cost Candidates the Post
Every year candidates clear the written exam and then fail the skill test. The reasons are almost always the same:
- Chasing speed and ignoring errors — a fast typist with 10% mistakes scores worse than a steady one
- Practising only on a mobile keyboard — muscle memory does not transfer
- Assuming DEST is a formality — it is a filter, not a formality
- Reaching the centre late and losing the first few minutes to panic
- Not reading the passage properly before starting
- Ignoring the Centre Supervisor’s instructions — the circular specifically says further instructions will be given at the centre
Exam Day Checklist for 16.08.2026

- Government photo ID proof
- Duty relief arranged with your office in advance

The 6 candidates in Annexure-II (Category “B”) are all PwD candidates from Bhopal, Jabalpur, Narmadapuram, Ratlam and RMS MP Dn divisions.
Common Questions
Is DEST the final stage? Yes, this is the last stage. But qualifying for DEST does not mean you are selected. The final result comes after the skill test.
What if I cannot attend on 16.08.2026? Contact your Divisional Office immediately. Do not assume a second chance will be given.
Where do I download the official list? It is available on the India Post departmental website. CEPT Mysuru has been requested to publish it.
I am not in the list. When is the next chance? The LGO exam is conducted for each vacancy year. Start preparing now for the next notification instead of waiting for it.
