How Was Merit Decided?
- Paper-I marks only. Merit was based only on Paper-I marks, as per Directorate letters dated 10.05.2019 and 29.05.2024.
- DEST is qualifying only. DEST marks only decide whether you qualify. They do not change your rank.
- One merit list for the circle. A single list was made, with Category A first and then Category B, under the PA/SA Recruitment Rules (GSR 459(E) dated 17.06.2022).
- Division by merit and choice. Divisions were allotted by merit, the candidate’s preferences and the vacancies available.
- Tie-break: equal Paper-I marks were ranked as per Directorate letter dated 11.12.2020.
- Vigilance check: the latest vigilance clearance reports from all Divisions were taken into account.
Rules for the Selected Candidates
- Reply within one week. Accept or refuse the offer in writing. If you don’t reply within one week, it counts as a refusal, and the post will go to the next eligible candidate in another supplementary result.
- Join by 19 October 2026. No extension will be given.
- Provisional selection. It depends on checking your education, length of service, category, disability status and other conditions.
- SC candidate: the category certificate must be checked in the format prescribed by the Government of India.
- No pending cases. Candidates with a vigilance or disciplinary case pending, or a punishment running, will not be promoted.
- False details mean cancellation. If someone is found to have applied with false information, their selection will be cancelled without notice.
Waiting on a List? Keep Watching
If either selected candidate refuses or doesn’t reply within a week, Assam Circle will issue another supplementary result. Candidates close to the cut-off should keep an eye on the circle website until 19 October 2026.
