Odisha Circle Fills One More Postman Seat
Odisha Postal Circle has declared the 3rd supplementary result of the LDCE for promotion from MTS to Postman and Mail Guard for the vacancy year 2026. Shri Ajay Martha of RMS K Division has been selected for the Postman seat in Dhenkanal Division (UR).
The seat opened up because Smt. Alisha Das of Berhampur Division, who was given Dhenkanal in the result of 30 September 2026, declined the promotion. Her Divisional Head confirmed this on 7 October 2026.
The letter was issued by Shri G. P. Kar, Assistant Director (RE), Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Odisha Circle, Bhubaneswar, on 7 October 2026. The letter number is RE/30-22/2026.

Rules for the Selected MTS
- Join within 7 days. If the official doesn’t join the Postman post within 7 days of the order, it will be treated as refused (Directorate letter dated 18.10.2023).
- On leave? The official can join after leave if they agree in writing to accept the promotion.
- Refused before? Wait one year. No promotion offer will be given until one year has passed since an earlier refusal (Directorate letter dated 06.03.2023).
- No change of allotment. Requests to change the cadre, division or unit will not be accepted under any circumstances.
- Provisional candidates will not be promoted until their candidature is regularised.
- No pending cases. Candidates with a vigilance or disciplinary case pending, or a punishment in force, will not be promoted.
- SC/ST/PwBD status will be checked by the Division.
- Selection is provisional. It depends on the Recruitment Rules. Names can be removed if a mistake is found.
- All other conditions in the circle letter dated 04.09.2026 still apply.
A Big Lesson: Your Division Choices Matter
Look closely at Annexure-I. Sonali Rout (122) and Prachi Priyadarshini Tripathy (118) both scored more than Ajay Martha (112), yet neither got the seat. The only vacancy was in Dhenkanal, and they had not chosen Dhenkanal in their preferences. Ajay Martha had, so the seat went to him.
