Important Rules for Selected MTS

  • Give your answer in writing, fast. Submit a written acceptance or refusal to your parent Division or Unit within the time given. The letter says “three (05) days” from the date of publication, so the number is unclear. To be safe, reply within 3 days.
  • Join within 7 days. If you don’t join the Postman or Mail Guard post within 7 days of the promotion order, it will be treated as refused (Directorate letter No. 17-08/2018-SPN-I dated 18.10.2023).
  • On leave? You can join after 7 days only if you have agreed in writing to accept the promotion. You will then join once your approved leave ends.
  • Don’t want the promotion? Say so in writing. Your Division will send the attested refusal letter up the line by 13 October 2026.
  • SC/ST/PwBD candidates: your category and caste status will be checked carefully before the promotion order is issued.
  • Provisional candidates will not be promoted until their candidature is regularised.
  • Vigilance or disciplinary cases: candidates with a pending case, or under a punishment, will not be promoted. Their cases will go back to the Circle Office.
  • Selection is provisional. It depends on the Recruitment Rules and on checking your certificates. Your name can be removed if you are found ineligible, or if a court order or rule change requires it.

Note: this result is dated 2 October 2026, and some of its deadlines have already passed. If you are on the list and haven’t heard from your Division, contact them today.
