What the Cut-Off Actually Tells Us
Look at the numbers carefully, because this is the real lesson for anyone preparing for the next MTS to Postman departmental exam:
- The topper scored 146 out of 150 (96 in Paper-1 + 50 in Paper-2).
- The last selected UR candidate scored 136.
- The SC cut-off went down to 132.
- The ST cut-off was 120.

Big News for GDS Candidates 👀
This is the part most people will miss, so read it slowly.
- One backlog vacancy under PwBD (LV) category in Shimla Division stayed unfilled because no qualified candidate was available.
- Three posts under ST category — one each in Chamba, Mandi and Shimla — also stayed unfilled.
- As per Recruitment Rules, all these unfilled vacancies will now be added to the 50% quota to be filled by Direct Recruitment through Competitive Examination limited to GDS.

Important Instructions Issued in the Circular
- Division-wise vacancies were already circulated vide letter no. R&E/77-7/2026-kw dated 13.08.2026.
- The result has been prepared as per Directorate letter no. 17-08/2018-SPN-I dated 05.04.2022, 19.12.2022 and 10.07.2024.
- Allotment of Divisions has been done as per Directorate letter no. 17-08/2018-SPN-I dated 18.10.2023 and 31.10.2023. This allotment can change if any discrepancy is found later.
- Inter-se rank / merit has been decided as per Directorate letter no. 04-08/2019-SPN-I dated 11.12.2020.
- Selection is subject to eligibility and vigilance clearance. Candidates with a pending vigilance or disciplinary case, or those undergoing punishment, will not be promoted.
- Divisions must reconcile SC/ST community certificates with educational certificates, since surname mismatches were noticed in some cases.
- Joining must be completed on or before 18.09.2026.
- Unwillingness or refusal, if any, must be submitted by 18.09.2026. If a Division fails to send the refusal in time, that Division will be held responsible.
- Requests for revised allotment will not be entertained. Please do not apply for a division change.
- The result must be displayed on the notice board of every Divisional Office and the Circle Office.
