What Is the Data Entry Module?
In simple words, this is a digital system for recording loss and fraud cases in India Post.
Until now, details of loss and fraud cases were largely maintained through manual registers and physical files at division and circle level. The new Data Entry Module brings this work onto an online portal as part of the department’s Investigation Module.
It is being developed and hosted by CEPT (Centre for Excellence in Postal Technology), Mysuru, and has already been piloted in Maharashtra Circle and Andhra Pradesh Circle before this nationwide roll-out.

Why This Matters for Postal Staff
- Loss and fraud case reporting is going digital. Divisional offices will now enter case details directly into the module instead of only maintaining manual records.
- Faster monitoring at Circle and Directorate level. Once data is centralised, pending investigation cases become visible up the chain, which usually means quicker follow-up and fewer cases lying idle for years.
- Training is being given before roll-out, not after. The department is holding the demo on 10.09.2026 for a module going live on 15.09.2026 – so anyone handling investigation work at divisional level should attend and not skip it.
- The Operational Guide / SOP is the document to keep. It will be circulated by CEPT. Save it – it will be your reference for daily use.
- Pilot experience is being used. Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh Circles have already run the module, so the demonstration will come from officials who have actually used it, not just developers.
What Divisional Staff Should Do Now
- ✅ Confirm with your Divisional Head whether you are among the nominated participants for the VC.
- ✅ Get the VC link from your Circle Office – CEPT was to share it on 09.09.2026.
- ✅ Download and read the Operational Guide / SOP before attending, so your questions are specific.
- ✅ Keep your pending loss and fraud case records ready – you will likely need to enter historical data once the module is live from 15.09.2026.
- ✅ Note down any doubts about workflow and raise them during the VC, not after roll-out.
